Frances E. Willard Award of Achievement

The Frances E. Willard Award honors Alpha Phi alumnae who have achieved outstanding success in their chosen field and have gained recognition on a national or international level.  Thirty women have received this prestigious award recognizing distinguished alumnae in education, law, government, science and the arts.

Michaelanean Award of Alpha Phi

The Michaelanean Award was first presented at the 1972 Centennial Convention.  It is presented each biennium to those alumnae members of the Fraternity who have shown outstanding loyalty and continuous devotion to Alpha Phi on the local level. Alumnae who have held office on the Regional or International level, either elected or appointed, are ineligible for consideration.  Please be sure your nominee has not held a Regional or International office while living in another area.

Polaris Award of Alpha Phi

The Polaris Award is presented each biennium to those alumnae members of the Fraternity who have shown outstanding loyalty and continuous contributions to Alpha Phi on the regional level.  For alumnae who have served only at the local level, please use the Michaelanean Award application.

Ursa Major Award of Alpha Phi

The Ursa Major Award was presented for the first time at the 1974 Convention.  This award has been established to recognize alumnae members of Alpha Phi who have achieved success in their chosen field, either professional or volunteer outside of Alpha Phi, on a local, state/province or regional level.

Application Process

Please complete appropriate nomination form online (using the links above), or complete a hard-copy nomination form by downloading and printing the appropriate PDF (using the links above) and mailing or faxing the forms to the address below. Please attach a resume and photograph if available or e-mail them to the address below.
Applicants may also self-nominate. Please do not wait for someone else to nominate a deserving candidate…do it yourself!
Completed applications are due to the Executive Office by Friday, January 6, 2012.

Additional Information

All Alpha Phis who have not previously won this award are eligible.
Nominees and applicants must be members in good standing (current with their International alumnae dues).
Certificates of Honor will be presented at Convention on June 30, 2012 in Phoenix, AZ.
Recipients will be notified on February 29, 2012 or earlier that they have been selected to receive the award.
